cold, windy day with little sun until late PM; clear, cold night. Today, sunrise at 0722, sunset at 1624 EST, as it was yesterday. The shortest days of the year. See tomorrow.

12-22-03: Yesterday, 12/21, NWS hi=31@1429{farm=33.1@1500}, lo=9@0300{farm=7.6@0700}. Only 16% sunshine; unusual for farm to reach a higher temperature than the Albany NWS station at the Albany airport.
Today, winter began at 0244 hrs. The sun rose at 0723 and sets at 1625 EST..

12-23-03: Yesterday, 12/22, NWS hi=43@1501{farm=40.4@1400}, lo=28@0448{farm=9.7@0400.} Another cloudy day with only 26PPS; warm PM with late sun; can't explain big difference in the two "lo" readings.

12-24-03: Yesterday, 12/23, NWS hi=51@1534{farm=48.5@1500}, lo=30@0442{farm=25.1@0200}. 47PPS;
sunny to partially sunny until mid- afternoon, when clouds moved in from south/southwest; rain on the way.

12-25-03: Yesterdy, 12/24, NWS hi=53{farm=50.4@1700}, lo=39{farm=34.9@2400}. Heavy rain in afternoon with light rain in the AM; total at farm= 0.78"; normal daily average temperature now down to 25 degees F.

shine (PPS), all in the afternoon; trace of precipitation (NWS).

12-27-03: Yesterday, 12/26, NWS hi= 37@2329{farm=33.9@1500}, lo=34@0805{farm=29.7@0400}. One
PPS; gray day with a trace of precipitation (NWS).

12-28-03: Yesterday, 12/27, NWS hi=40@1534{farm=37.5@1400}, lo=25@2400{farm=17.7@2400}.

1-2-04: Yesterday, 1/1, NWS hi=39@0023{farm=35.8@1300}, lo=27@2330{farm=25.0@2400}. A glimpse of sun all day (1PPS); dark, damp, unpleasant day, but with no precipitation.

1-3-04: Yesterday, 1/2, NWS hi=38@2146{farm=33.0@1500}, lo=24@0226{farm=23.1@0200}.
No sunshine; fine, wet snow 0800-1000 = 1/2"; damp, dark AM, but somewhat better PM but not pleasant.

again; rain (0.27" at farm) in AM; a damp miserable day despite nice temp in PM; very dense fog late afternoon.

No sunshine; little wind; temp dropped all day, was 36 @ 1000; light snow began 2100.

bright, mostly sunny day but windy with blowing snow; cold in the open; another crystal clear night and cold!

ilar to yesterday but colder with less wind, therefore less windchill; seemed brighter at farm than 37% sunshine

A btfl winter day, except very cold; fortunately little wind; a clear btfly starry evening and another cold one.

shine; 1.5" snow before 0700; light snow off and on all day afterward; sky cleared in the evening.
